 I am lost. So what is a "irreducible BUG"? I believe I understand the two terms "irreducible" and "BUG" but the combination is over my head.
 
 I previously found, but did not post, an AUR(34)r57c78 that results in r7c8<>3 which then sets up a BUG+2 to complete the puzzle. However, that does not help me to understand the "irreducible BUG" solution.

 You mean a bit like M-ring loop ?...
 
 The point however being this : a grid with only bivalues may yet be reducible so is not yet BUG. Therefore to underline the importance of this distinction, reducible BUG, if pleonastic, seemed useful.
