I am not sure what a skyscraper is (in sudoku that is). In rows 2 and 5 I have 2 5's and throughout the puzzle I have several 58 pairs. I just don't know the logic in solving it.  |

Thank-you Marty. I had to read the explanation a few times to get it through my thick skull. Applying this method to this puzzle can I then eliminate the 5 in r4c4? Is that correct? Thanks.  |

In addition to the skyscraper in r25 with a common base in c8, a second skyscraper is in r24 with common base in c4. The second skyscraper eliminates <5> in r1c7 & r5c8 to complete the puzzle.

You are correct Louise. If you look at your skyscraper again, you will note that you can also eliminate the <5> in r1c5 since this cell is also seen by both ends of the skyscraper.

My solution is a little different. I had skyscrapers on <4> and then on <8>. I did not need to look at <5>.
