| 58 17   2  | 48   6     45 | 17   3   9   |
| 3  4    9  | 127  127   27 | 5    6   8   |
| 6  1578 18 | 3    58    9  | 1247 247 124 |
+------------+---------------+--------------+
| 1  58   4  | 6    9     27 | 3    278 25  |
| 2  6    3  | 5    47    8  | 147  9   14  |
| 58 9    7  | 24   3     1  | 6    248 245 |
+------------+---------------+--------------+
| 4  3    18 | 9    1258  6  | 28   25  7   |
| 9  2    5  | 478  478   3  | 48   1   6   |
| 7  18   6  | 1248 12458 45 | 9    245 3   |
+------------+---------------+--------------+

Play this puzzle online at the Daily Sudoku site

As a first step you can use a XY-Chain
r4c9 - 5 - r4c2 - 8 - r5c1 - 5 - r1c1 - 8 - r1c4 - 4 - r6c4
and -2 in r6c89 and r4c6

This helps you to proceed
If you need further help we resound

Ciao Gianni

Hi MIKe

My solution with a step after basics.

[(4)R1C4-(4)R8C4; (4-8)R1C4=(8)R3C5-(8)R3C3=(8)R7C3-(8)R9C2=(8)R9C45-(8=7)R8C4 and (4)R1C4-(4)R1C6=(4)R9C6-(4)R8C5;(4-8)R1C4=(8)R3C5-(8=7)R8C5=>contradiction two singles 7 in box 8 =>-4R1C4=>solution stte.

Ciao a Tutti
Paolo

Hi Mike,

You could also use a W-Wing 18 r3c3, r9c2 connected by (1). This means r3c2 -8, and r7c3 -8. The dominoes fall pretty quickly after that.

Good puzzle....

I see the W-wing 18 r3c3, r9c2. I do not see the connection by 1. Could I talk you into pointing it out to me?

5r1c1 -> 1 solution
8r1c1 -> 0 solution

An optimized interpretation :
Code:
+-----------------+-------------------+--------------------+
| 5-8  17    2    | (48)  6      5(4) | 17    3        9   |
| 3    4     9    | 127   127    27   | 5     6        8   |
| 6    1578  1(8) | 3     45-8   9    | 1247  247      124 |
+-----------------+-------------------+--------------------+
| 1    58    4    | 6     9      27   | 3     2578     25  |
| 2    6     3    | 5     47     8    | 147   9        14  |
| 58   9     7    | 24    3      1    | 6     458      245 |
+-----------------+-------------------+--------------------+
| 4    3     1(8) | 9     1258   6    | 2(8)  25-8     7   |
| 9    2     5    | 478   478    3    | (48)  1        6   |
| 7    18    6    | 1248  12458  5(4) | 9     25-8(4)  3   |
+-----------------+-------------------+--------------------+
The 6 solutions of the set P={8r37c3, 8r78c7, 4r8c7.r9c8, 4r91c6, (48)r1c4} of 5 constraints exclude the set X={8r79c8, 8r1c1, 8r3c5} of 4 candidates; singles to the end
